This story is inspired by real events of the Muisca community, currently living in the departments of Cundinamarca and Boyacá in Colombia. Through this story, it is intended to show a more real and authentic version of the legend of El Dorado, and to help raise awareness of some of the abuses and mistreatment that the indigenous communities (our ancestors) have experienced, starting with the arrival of the Spanish conquerors.
This is a different book that seeks to lead the reader on an internal path of self-reflection and questioning. What is important in this book is not so much the end, but the process. It is about being carried away by the wisdom of stories, learning from our past, and understanding that the only way to have a viable future is to question the present.
