We just wrapped up our class reading of María Cano, La Flor del Trabajo by Adriana Ramirez, and wow.

Adriana manages to embed so many deep themes, from women´s rights and stereotypes, workers rights and resistance, to using our platforms and privilege, all in a novel our level 3 students can comprehend.
I had a student ask me yesterday if I had any other books at around that level. This is a senior on his last day of high school. “I really felt like I could understand it, and it really built my confidence. I know I couldn’t have read something like that at the beginning of the year.”

Bravo, Adriana! I can’t wait to teach the other books in the Revolucionarias series!
